Our 1st stop is Bass and Flinders Distillery, Mornington Peninsula’s first artisanal distillery – famous for producing small batch grape based spirits. Using a traditional alembic pot still and a passion for adventure, Bass & Flinders set out to create a range of award-winning spirits including brandies, gins and liqueurs.
At the Cellar Door, you will get to see first hand how Bass and Flinders Distillery produce their vine to bottle products. You are also welcome to participate in an informative tasting and sample a gin flight at the distillery’s bar overlooking green pastures.
Our second stop is JimmyRum, a craft rum distillery with an audacious goal, to change the way Australians think about rum. Uncomplicated, unpretentious, and unruly, JimmyRum’s are distinctive and downright delicious.
You will be visiting the working distillery in Dromana, where you can experience a guided tasting and a seasonal menu featuring local peninsula producers. You may even want one of their award-winning spirits to taste and take home. After all, a day at JimmyRum is one of Mornington Peninsula’s greatest finds.
Our third stop is Tar Barrel – a well-known corner in Red Hill and named by road builders storing tar barrels during road building on the Mornington Peninsula.
The founders share longstanding love for spirits and wanted Tar Barrel to not only be a place where gins and whiskies were made but where some of the best in the country would be showcased – and where people could learn how they were made and explore the difference between malt profiles. The distillery site has thus become home to the Mornington Peninsula’s first four grain whiskey producer.
Tar Barrel is a place that’s eager as ever to share their love and knowledge of beer too, so as well as exploring their offerings with tasting paddles, you can jump onto a brewery tour to learn the story of beer from grain to glass.
Our 4th and final stop for the day is Fenian Wines, a winery that specializes in Estate grown Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, what the Mornington Peninsula grows best!
Had enough to drink for one day? Feel free to indulge your sweet tooth in a freshly made batch of artisanal chocolates, pastries & desserts at the Mornington Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery before heading back home.
Disclaimer: Please note that expenses incurred at this venue, including but not limited to food, tastings, beverages, and activities, are at the expense of the guests and are not as a part of the tour inclusions.
As the day comes to an end, it is time to wrap up and leave the Yarra Valley and head back home.

A full-day wine tour booking includes 8 hours; this includes the time from the first pickup to the final drop-off. However, there are exceptions to this in case of extreme weather conditions, traffic incidents, etc.
Example of a standard tour: Tour begins at 10 am from pick up point in Melbourne CBD, driver & passengers arrive at Yarra Valley at 11 am, return to Melbourne CBD to finish the tour at 6.00pm.
If multiple pickup pickups/drop-offs are required, then it is recommended to plan your day ahead to avoid exceeding the 8-hour tour duration.
Not strictly, we may allow up to an extra 30 minutes as no one is perfect, and going overtime can happen. However, if an 8-hour tour ends up being a 9- or 10-hour tour then you will be charged overtime.
It is important to note that the driver is booked for 8 hours and longer hours of driving result in fatigue which is not ideal for the safety of the driver and passengers on board.
