Fenian Wines

Visitors can get the whole “cellar door” experience at Fenian Wines, which is a family-run winery located in the middle of Red Hill and offers wine tastings. Grapes from the Red Hill estate vineyard are used in the production of high-quality wines by Fenian Wines. The Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Rose, and Sauvignon Blanc wines are available for tasting and purchase at the cozy cellar door.

Spending the afternoon with loved ones or good friends on the stunning and one-of-a-kind deck that looks out over the dam and vineyard is sure to put you in a relaxed state. The deck plays host to sporadic music events, and great refreshments are provided by food trucks at these gatherings. A wonderful spot to get away from all of the commotion and activity.

On the premises, wine is crafted by winemaker Eammon (Ed) Donnelly, who is driven by a desire to develop distinctive wines that stand out from the crowd. It is likely that you will see him when you arrive at the tavern. During a visit, one may get a good look at everything that goes on during the harvest because the winery is just next to the tasting room.

At Fenian Wines, it’s not only about the wine; it’s also about having a natural and unpretentious experience while drinking it. The website features a page dedicated to the shop where customers may make purchases online.

It was in 2012 when winemaker Eammon (Ed) Donnelly made his very first commercial release, which marked the beginning of the Fenian label.

Ed’s interest in winegrowing, which began as a pastime but quickly developed into love, led him to enroll at Charles Sturt University, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Winegrowing in 2004. He did this because he wanted to learn more about the subject.

Ed produced a few bottles of wine each year for a number of years using grapes obtained from nearby vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula. He experimented with a variety of grape varieties and gradually increased the amount of wine he produced each year.

Ed did harvests at T’Gallant and Red Hill Estate on the Peninsula, as well as a harvest at Hugel in Alsace, France. He also worked harvests on the Peninsula.

The year 2016 marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Fenian Wines, which at that time was operating on a 6-acre vineyard in Red Hill, complete with a cellar door and winery.
